Delete your account and data

Option A: Unlink, keep your account

Use this if you want to end the shared space but may pair again later (with the same person or someone else).

1. Open CloserDays and tap the profile icon, then Settings.
2. Tap Unlink and confirm.

Unlinking ends the space for both partners straight away. The shared moments, photos and reunion plans are permanently deleted on the server. Each of you keeps your own account, display name and subscription. Your partner is told the space has ended.

Option B: Delete your account

1. Open CloserDays and tap the profile icon, then Settings.
2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my account.
3. Confirm with Sign in with Apple when asked. This lets us revoke the Sign in with Apple connection on your behalf.

When you confirm, CloserDays does the following, in this order: unlinks your partner and deletes the shared moments, photos and plans; deletes your profile photo; deletes your push notification tokens and your subscription record; disconnects your account from the usage events it generated (they are kept only in de-identified form); revokes your Sign in with Apple connection; and finally deletes the account itself together with your profile and membership rows.

If you have an active CloserDays Pro subscription, deleting your account does not cancel it, because subscriptions are managed by Apple. Cancel it in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions, ideally before deleting the account.

What remains afterwards

Apple keeps its own record of your purchases. RevenueCat may keep the purchase records it needs to restore purchases and for accounting and fraud prevention; those are tied to an app user identifier, not to your moments. Anything you exported yourself (story images saved to your photo library, screenshots, shared posts) stays wherever you put it. Encrypted infrastructure backups age out on our hosting provider's schedule.

Also remove the widgets from your Home and Lock Screens, or delete the app, to clear the last cached snapshot on your phone.

If you can't open the app

If you no longer have access to the phone or the Apple Account you signed in with, email jana@amcle.ca with the display name you used and roughly when you created the account. We will verify that you are the account holder before deleting anything, and confirm by email when it is done.
